Personalized domains for your blog?

Posted on Thursday December 15, 2005

We're considering whether to implement "per blog" DNS support for JRoller. You'd be able to have http://yourblog.jroller.com as the root of your blog. Should we?

it would be good, and might prevent loss of users to blogger.
personally, I think it is a major feature to be missing, but so are categories for posts, and blogger does fine w/o that as well...

I am having similar issues with several app servers including WebLogic and JBoss. I did a small research and here is what I found. The
reason hot code replace is failing in WebLogic, is because Eclipse uses a modified javac which generates bytecode different than Sun's javac. Remember Eclipse is dynamically monitoring its workspace and the compiler embedded with it can incrementally compile the modified sources.
This effectively causes all code changes to be schema changes.

Yes you should, I am evaluating to move away from jroller because of this :(

By the way, why not at the same time enable people to have http://example.com/ as a valid jroller too ?

This would make jroller very interresting for lot of blogger IMHO ....
